About Venturing Vows
The 2022 wedding season was the year of film. While I’m predominately a digital photographer, adding film to each elopement day has been such a game changer. There’s something captured in the film photos that simply can’t be captured on digital.
The mentality when approaching a film photo is entirely different. There’s only 36 frames on my roll so each photo needs to be intentional and thought through. You don’t get the instant gratification of seeing the image on the back of the camera to make sure it’s just right. There’s only so many technical things you can do to a film photo especially in terms of post processing. It’s all about capturing a special moment in its simplest form.
What does this mean for my clients? A roll of film photography is now included with all of my elopement packages! It captures such a special element of your day that I consider it an essential piece of telling your story. While 95% of your day will be on digital, that special 5% of the photos on film will be an extra bonus.
Incorporating film into my workflow during your elopement has helped me become a better version of myself as a photographer. I spend more time looking for the small moments, the stuff that will end up looking extra magical on film versus digital. Film forces the focus onto how the photos should make us feel. I’m so very excited to be including this for all the couples I get to work with.
