2024 Rangefinder 30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography

I’m excited to announce that I’m the recipient of the Rangefinder magazine’s Rangefinder 30 Rising Stars award for 2024! This award recognizes the top 30 up and coming wedding photographers that have been full-time for less than 5 years. It highlights photographers worldwide who are capturing weddings in new, unique ways. I’m especially excited to be one of three elopement specific photographers featured on a list largely for traditional weddings.

Not gonna lie, it’s a big deal. I’m not good with bragging but this award is ICONIC in the industry.

While I dreamed of winning this award since I started full-time photography, I never imagined I’d actually win it. So many of the photographers that I look up to have received this award over the years. There’s so many amazing, talented humans and it’s an honor to be recognized among them.

I was invited to submit my application in September which includes 30 images and a questionnaire. The 30 images are supposed to encapsulate your wedding photography, not just epic portraits. They want emotion, details, and unique images. In my questionnaire, I wrote about my love for capturing nature as a co-subject with my couples and my decision to specialize exclusively in the Pacific Northwest. When I picked a detail photo to add, it made me smile to add an epic landscape image rather than a detailed flat lay. I pour my heart and soul into this job and it reminded me that I’ve found kindred spirits in all my couples. These amazing people who also want epic scenery photos from their day, not just fancy accessory photos.

I’m so grateful for the folks who hired me when I was using a Costco camera and the loved ones who encouraged me. A special thanks to my partner who convinced me to leave the job that was making me miserable to try this wild idea that was exclusively photographing elopements. Also to all my couples who have trusted me with such an important life milestone. It will always be an honor to be part of this chapter of your life.
